Kusuma Quilt in Pink Blossom

Each motif on this quilt was pressed by hand, one colour at a time, using wooden blocks carved by artisans in the Sanganer district of Jaipur. The same technique, the same workshops, the same families who have been printing cloth since the Mughal era. The pattern is not screen printed or digitally reproduced. Every repeat is placed by eye and by hand. Look closely and you will see the slight variations that prove it.
