Carved from a single block of Makrana marble - the legendary white stone that built the Taj Mahal - this scalloped flower plate brings the weight and warmth of Rajasthani craft into your home. Its organic, petal-shaped edges mimic a blooming lotus in full light. Unlike commercial marble, true Makrana has a high calcium carbonate content that produces a natural translucency and a luminous, almost candlelit glow. No two plates are identical. The veining is the stone's own story.

How to Style — 5 Ways

  • The Morning Ritual Tray: A ring, a small candle, and whatever you reach for first. Set it on your bedside table or dresser and let it hold the quiet start to your day.
  • The Urli Alternative: Fill it with petals. The scalloped edges frame it like a bloom in the act of opening.
  • The Layered Tablescape: Place a Vaarsa Diya or a Pillar candle at its centre. The plate becomes a base and the flame becomes a feature.
  • The Serveware Moment: Pistachios, Turkish delight, mithai, petit fours. On the table when guests arrive, it stops people mid-conversation.
  • The Shelf Object: Propped on a stack of books or leaned on a console. The petal edges read as sculpture. Leave it empty — the carving is enough.

Product Story

Sourced directly from the quarries of Makrana, Rajasthan — the same mines that have supplied India's greatest monuments for over 1,500 years — this marble is among the finest in the world. The scalloped edges are hand-chiselled by third-generation stone masons in Agra, the same city where their forefathers helped build the Taj Mahal.
